As you are reading this post I am on a short holiday up North. Do not worry there will still be posts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the next three weeks. In this post I will show you all he goodies I took with me. I had to pack light as we flew, and the bags always go home a bit fuller, Right?
Shower time.
I have decided to really put an effort into packing minimal. I have left all the luxuries at home and just packed the bare minimal as we will be visiting three locations and having one vanity bag makes thing a whole lot easier.
Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser - This is a very gentle cleanser. It is calming on the skin and helps with redness. It is a gel / cream consistency. I have the BIG sister bottle but keep filling the baby sister bottle cause it it easier to use and in this case travel friendly.
Avon Senses in Mystique - Oh my word this smells amazing!! Rose and jasmine. It is so feminine. I think I can sit on the plane and smell this all the way there. I like to take something that I do not use everyday as then the holiday feel so much more special and when I do use it at home I can think back of fond memories.
Lee Stafford - A while back I bought the wrong shampoo - luckily the smallest bottle i know of - but now it comes in handy. As we are going up north and it is already hot there I'm planning on tying my hair most of the days which means I do not need styling tools and all the other goodies. Will come and spoil myself with a nice hair mask when I come back.
Smelly cat - Smelly cat... (for my F.R.I.E.N.D.S fans out there)
Miss Dior - Blooming Bouquet - This perfume smell so fresh and beautiful, it is my absolute favorite. I feel like a million buck when I wear this. I feel I can wear this on a day to day basis or to a fancy event. It is versatile.
Mitchum - Unscented - My trusty old friend. This is a step I do not miss out on for ANY reason. Mitchum keeps me fresh all day long and does not leave stains on my clothes.
Skin Care
Dermalogica Multi-active Toner - I got this in a travel pack last year and it is so much smaller than my usual toner so this one is going with. It smells like rose and herbs. It is hydrating and refreshing. I also like to keep this in my handbag and use it after we flew as the air conditioner in the plan can dry out one’s face
Dermalogica Precleanse - This baby is so much smaller than my micellar water bottles. This precleanse also contains oils that breakup makeup, sunscreen and other products. It is travel friendly and works wonders as a makeup remover and a first step in a double cleansing routine.
Dermalogica intensive eye repair - My tiny eye cream. This baby is full of vitamins and extracts and deeply hydrates those sensitive skin around the eyes.
Packing my makeup was the biggest challenge. Knowing I cannot take all my favorites and that I have to only pack what I will need on a daily basis. That can change very quickly, so I decided on some fool proof items.
Skin
Dermalogica skin smoothing cream - This is my daily moisturiser. On any given day I will apply a little bit of this magic, wait for it to sink in, apply a primer and then proceed with the rest of my makeup.
L.A. Girl BB Cream - The reason I packed this is because it has enough coverage but is not heavy on the skin. With this BB cream I do not have to use a primer and I can apply it quickly, put some blush, and mascara on and my face is done!
L.A. Girl Pro Powder - Maybe this could have stayed home but it just help to set everything and keep the shine away.
Eyes
Inglot Freedom palettes - I have decided to take one neutral and one colorful one. The dress I am wearing has got the blue and teal in it. I love how you can mix and match and make your own palette with the colors you like.
Inglot Gel Eyeliner - This is a recent addition to my collection and I wear it everyday. This you can wear as a thin liner or a fancy thick cat-eye liner.
Benefit They’re Real Mascara - Deluxe size samples rock. It is small and compact and yet again travel friendly. This mascara is is great for extra length.
Lips & Cheeks
Inglot blush in 204 - I am taking this blush because of the packaging - well done Inglot - I know it will not get broken or damaged. The glass magnetic top and palette is extremely secure. Secondly this is a very universal and wearable color.
L’oreal Red Collection by Blake - Oh I love my red lips. This is a matte but with a creamy formula. It’s deep and sexy and perfect for the wedding that we are attending. I am still deciding if I want neutral eyes and this red lip or smokey eyes with a neutral lip. Tell me what you think in the comments below.
Gosh in 122 Nougat - I find I gravitate to this lippie more often than not. It’s one of those “your lips but better” colors. It has a glossy finish and the staying power is nothing to write home about, but it is enough to go and visit an old friend or quickly pop into the store.
This is my vanity bag that I will be taking. The top part is deeper than the bottom. It is perfect to divide your your products. Best advance it holds for me is that I only have to pack one bag. That makes the hubby very happy and a happy hubby ensures good traveling.
What do you pack when you go on holiday? Tell me about it in the comments below
Love ya
Melanie
